ITraveling to Uranus would take at least 15 years due to its distance of 2.7 billion kilometers and current technological limitations. Yet Lin dreams of being the first Thai to explore Uranus, inspired by her first love, Kath, who aspired to break world records as a free diver. Their dreams push the boundaries of human limits—one reaching the farthest point in space, the other diving into the ocean’s depths. In 2024, Lin, 37, is Thailand’s first female scientist stationed at Luna Gate, researching meat preservation in space. From the station, she often gazes at Uranus, remembering Kath—the woman who inspired her courage. Though separated by time and space, Kath remains in Lin’s heart. An extraordinary astronomical event occurs when a comet from beyond the solar system passes near the Sun, and Uranus’ gravity redirects it toward Earth. The Sun’s coronal ejection increases space temperatures, causing the comet to fragment and damage satellites. Lin, on an external mission, is thrown into deep space, drifting helplessly before being swept into a dark galactic hole—crossing into countless parallel worlds. In another reality, Kath, now a half-Thai-American artist in New York, returns to her hometown Takua Pa for a free diving competition and to sell her family’s old photo shop. Memories of Lin flood back—her first love from 20 years ago. Despite no contact since then, Kath never forgot her. Before the competition, she learns Lin has vanished in a space accident. Heartbroken yet determined, Kath dives to unprecedented depths, where a vision of Lin in an astronaut suit appears, giving her the strength to survive. Lin, caught between life and death, realizes the truth—Kath actually died in 2004 during her first free diving competition. Surrounded by infinite reflections of Kath across parallel worlds, Lin can only watch their alternate lives unfold—love, joy, separation, and longing—but never change fate. Both women endlessly seek fragments of their lost love across these worlds. In each reality, they try to reunite, to find a universe where they can remain together. Though Lin knows these visions spring from her thoughts and Kath has long been gone, every meeting in these imagined worlds brings them peace. Smiling at each other, even briefly, becomes a timeless symbol of their enduring love.
